Kth Largest Element in an Array
Given an integer array nums and an integer k, return the kth largest element in the array.
Note that the answer is the kth largest element in sorted order, not the kth distinct element. Duplicates count.
A canonical heap-pattern problem: maintain a min-heap of size k while scanning the array — the heap's root is the kth largest seen so far. A sort-based solution is also acceptable; the reference here uses a min-heap for clarity, but you may sort if you prefer.
Examples
Constraints
- 1 <= k <= nums.length <= 10^4
- -10^4 <= nums[i] <= 10^4
